Machine embroidery on faux leather and suede; jump-ring assembly
Inspired by my travels to Morocco. Specifically when Itook 3 steps into the Ben Youssef Madrasa & immediately found inspiration on the wall.

The Ben Youssef Madrasa was once the largest Islamic college in Northwest Africa. Commissioned in 1564 CE during the Marinid Dynasty, which controlled Fez & other parts of Morocco.

The dynansty placed a large emphasis on arts & culture, resulting in a beautifully ornate interior derived from Moroccan & Andalusian architecture.
The tile pattern itself features a simple floral pattern, inspired by the constant smell of orange blossom & incense.
